Materials

Yarn: 70-90 grams of fingering weight sock yarn
Yarn used in sample is CoopKnits Socks Yeah! (75% merino 25% nylon, 231 yards or 211 meters
per 50 grams) in Larimar
Gauge: 8 stitches and 11 rows is 1 inch or 2.5 cm in stockinette stitch
Needles: 2.25 mm (US 1) or size needed to obtain gauge in stockinette stitch
Materials needed: Needles for working small circumferences in the round, at least 3 stitch
markers, a cable needle if you use one for cabling, and a tapestry needle.
Optional: 72 size 8/0 or size 6/0 beads and a beading tool of choice (e.g. a crochet hook, Superfloss,
etc.)

Agna Qel is a sock model created as an enigmatic KAL (MOCK) for socks. A group of anonymous knitters at Ravelry. While watching Avatar, I combined the samples of a pair: The last airbender decided to call the pattern the capital of the Northern Water Tribe, because the stitch pattern reminds me of the magnificent ice structures that you can find there.
